New Member Introduction (confid-d)

Hello,

My name is Dominic and I am a retired software developer.
While I have written some code in the past, (C, C++ TCL/TK and Python), most of my 30+ year SW development employment focus was in the area of software integration and software testing. This testing extended to the “Testing” of documentation - user docs, requirements, technical procedures etc. I was also responsible for the creation of requirements, design documents, test scripts etc.

I have always loved the idea behind Open Source, and in the past I have used many Open Source Linux distributions as well as the Open Foundation tools. Recently I discovered another Open Source organization called openstreetmaps and have started to contribute to that org by helping to map the world.
I particularly love the “Document Foundation” in general and LibreOffice in particular. I have been using Calc and Writer for most of the last 6 to 7 years.

I’d love to give back in any way I can and make the tools as useful and powerful as possible.

I’ll need some guidance to get started as I am not certain of my next step(s) toward making a meaningful contribution.

Thanks in advance,
Dominic (confid-d)

you find an overview on Get Involved | LibreOffice - Free Office Suite - Based on OpenOffice - Compatible with Microsoft

From your experience the area “Testing - QA” might fit well.
