Docs/Pubs wiki page: an update on progress

The wiki isn't accepting uploads at the moment, so although I'm
editing the wiki page to add links to the Getting Started chapters,
some of the chapters are not yet available there. Also, not all
chapters are ready for publishing, though JohnS and PeterS are doing a
great job of updating them.

Hi
It might take a day or 2 for the servers to be settled.
Regards from
Tom

Hi
It should all be working fine now!

Although the infrastructure crew had added new servers just before Launch
Day it still wasn't enough to cope with the vast amount of unexpected
interest in LibreOffice on the day. Apple have a similar problem when they
release a new iPad or IPhone or whatever and stores have trouble getting
enough stock in to cope with the rush of those first few hours. The TDF
infrastructure team were able to bring even more servers on-line within a
couple of hours and that seemed to solve the 'problem' of such high demand.

Btw i have tidied the wiki-page's Getting Started section by moving all the
remaining chapter's number-of-pages into the 4.0.x columns. It's going to
look a little odd until those chapters get uploaded to the Publications page
and the number may need to be changed a little. Some of the other chapters
seemed to gain or lose a page or so this time.

I still haven't done the Writer's section for the 4.0.x and i know it needs
doing asap so hopefully i should remember to do that tomorrow. I've got to
sneak into work anyway to finish off a few outstanding issues there too but
a lot of that is waiting around while Windows does it's scans and updates
and stuff (big yawn).

So, apols and regards from
Tom

Tom,
Thanks for making the changes you've done on our Pubs page. You'll see
that I deleted the numbers of pages for new chapters that have not
been added to the list; the numbers do change and I thought it looked
silly to have numbers of pages with no other info.

No great rush on amending the Writer Guide table.

Hi
I forgot to go to sleep last night so i did it then.  Also forgot to sneak into work until too late today so i'm not goign to get everything done here either!  lqtm.  At least i am getting a few things done for once though so that feels good.  I saw the page numbers vanish and thought it was something weird i'd done but the history reassured me.  It does look better as it is now.

Is the Docs Team trying to produce a full set of guides for the 4.0.0 or is it going to settle into a sensible rotation of some-sort?  Work so far is pretty awesome btw!! :D  Chapters keep appearing for the GS guide pretty much each time i look.
Congrats and regards from
Tom

I'd say we're trying to produce a full set of guides for 4.0, but
realistically some may end up being for v4.1.

Yes, JohnS and PeterS have been doing an awesome job of updating the GS guide.
