I noticed this on the agenda:
Paolo encouraged me to post some questions / here on this; so here we go:
- Why is the discussion of ideas about the structure of our governance that are relevant to all Trustees, and potentially of interest to other FLOSS non-profits being done in private ?
- I just noticed that AB fees are not being billed. I assume thinking on re-structuring things here is well advanced. Is there any public idea of the goals or direction of that ?
- Has the board considered consulting the AB itself in such a review ? so far I’ve seen nothing there.
While the Advisory Board gives only advice, and its advice is frequently ignored - there is a nervousness here about the current board (which owing to resignations of several of the community’s most popular elected members is not as representative of Trustees as it could be) acting hastily to change our governance just before an election. Can the board & MC re-assure the Trustees, that these ideas will be brought to trustees, and discussed before action is taken.
Thanks,
Michael.
