Writer Guide status / my role

You're right, the whole Title Page thing is new. There seem to be some things missing, too -- I've submitted a couple of bugs, which turned up when I was trying to verify figures.

Hi

I think people have got to do what they works best for themselves. After we
have finished and got 1 set of completed documentation out there then we can
work at fixing inconsistencies and detail.

Obviously that is going to be easier when we get to the pages you have done and
you are likely to find it easy to fix tables and coding on a few people's
pages. "Speed is of the essence" now because we have product out there, fully
released, but with no documentation to back it up. If we can get a 2nd release
of documentation out there soon after our 1st then we might redeem ourselves. I
do realise i am the slacker here. I can see all you guys working hard and
getting excellent results fast.

Good luck and regards from

What I've found is that the only step that takes significant amounts of
time is checking the figures -- I get through all the other stuff in less
than half an hour, and the majority of that is changing the > signs to

and menu bar, and so on is basically in the noise.

We have approximately 60 chapters to do. If 15 minutes are spent per chapter
doing nonessential rebranding things, that's *15 hours* of time that could
have been better spent on something more productive.

I think we have to consider online users and not just printed copy users;

Hi

I think you 2 are the main people doing the work so i think a lot of people
regard you both very highly. People work better in different ways and it is
good to hear hints&tips from the people that are having success. I am still
struggling with basics and distractions, sorry.

Yes, sorry -- hit send too soon! What I meant was that the colors are very noticeable in the PDFs and anything else other than grayscale-printed copies. Even with the grayscale, the difference between white and not-white shows up.
