Hi,

French community have no access to this part of the blog

bests,

Lol, you mean La Mouette/Collabora I think

Jean-Baptiste, who was in charge of the blog has no time at the moment. Would you be interested to participate and update the FR blog? Mike can help with the publication and communication line.

Hi Sophie,

Yes, of course, we can update this blog and give some visibility to the French-speaking part of the TDF.

let’s say that I’d like to understand what it is about first.
and for sure interested in priority to add a polite warning/disclaimer to potential readers arriving to these long outdated info.

for the record, I bumped into it, trying to understand this also obscure reference :

ca fait qd meme 4 ans !

là c’est plutot 3 : Archives – The Document Foundation Mailing List

sounds like a private joke

perso, j’ai pas la ref.

This is completely off topic for the Liaisons category, also which language is English

Can you clarify what you mean with that? Are people refused access? I see the opposite here, Sophie inviting peopl to contribute to it, but maybe you can share more details to back your statement.

I don’t think an actual warning is needed. Each blogposting has a date listed. I agree it would be nice to fill it again with life, but a warning sounds a bit too much.

Hello Florian, in 2019, we were invited to access this blog and send our login details. Unfortunately, although we were granted access, we were not given the right to create posts, and things remained as they were. A mistake or forgetting, may be.

So this message was on Telegram, when Italo set the FR blog, we were several to get access at this time, around five if I remember well.
So who are “we” in this case? did you get back to Italo to check the issue with your account?
I find a bit sharp to say that French community do not get access to this part of the blog because it didn’t work for you, when several community members were able to propose posts.
It would be good to have a kind and tolerant communication style rather than a punitive one. Mistake can always happen, we’re only human.

My French is not that good, but I understand Italo‘s message as invitation to reach out to him to get access to the blog.

Did you reach out to him?
Did you get a reply?
Was your access rejected?
Was other people‘s access rejected?

I really would like to understand what the situation is like, given the strong criticism voiced in this thread.

Let me help to understand what happened, so I can have a look.

Merci!

I apologize for the misunderstanding but There is no criticism, just technical facts, in the french part, we have article from JB Faure and William which had it access revoked So for now nobody french speaking person post. (i’m glad to learn we are several)

I have requested again an access the 27/09/2023 on telegram, arguing my access was granted but no right to post. No answer.

I had not the idea that i have to ask again to Italo. So things stay where they were.

My account is still alive, I just have reset my password, but still no right to post as the screenshot below shows.

Bests,

The best is always to talk with each other. Emails can get lost, people can forget things. It happens to all of us, we all can miss a message or forget about something.

The impression this discussion created to me was that only a very few people would have access to the French blog, and this was intended, because others were rejected. Actually the opposite is true - it was even asked who wants access.

Now your message was missed it seems, which is something that can happen. We are all humans, after all.
