Membership Committee Meeting minutes 2026-03-27

1 Call to order & Roll Call

The meeting took place on 2026-03-27.
Present: Gustavo Pacheco, Andreas Matke, Shinji Enoki, Jona Azizaj

2 New Members

The Membership Committee has received Membership Applications since the last review of the Membership Rolls, has reviewed these Applications in light of the requirement as defined in the Statutes of The Document Foundation, and has decided that the status of Member of The Document Foundation will be granted to the following persons, for a period of 1 (one) year effective the first day of the second quarter of 2026:

3 Membership Renewals

The Membership Committee has received Membership Renewal requests since the last review of the Membership Rolls. Memberships that are not renewed in a timely manner are deemed to have lapsed. The Membership Committee has reviewed these Renewal requests in light of the requirement as defined in the Statutes of The Document Foundation and decided that the following persons have their status of Member of The Document Foundation extended until the end of the first quarter of 2027.

The renewed member Pranam Lashkari abstained from voting for his own renewal. Pranam Lashkari was renewed to keep his membership according his status of MC member with the change of his expiration date to the end of MC term. For all the other members, the list has been approved by roll call vote.

All business being concluded, the meeting was closed on 2026-03-27.

Indeed, are there unpublished minutes related to extraordinary events that the public can expect to be informed about?

Considering that the statutes say “Members of the Board of Trustees will be appointed for one year,” this deviation could use an explanation.

Additionally, there seems to be a discrepancy between this:

…and this:

If he abstained (as a MC member), he must have been present during the meeting, is that correct?

Finally, I would kindly suggest keeping BoD elections as a fixed topic on the meeting agenda from the start of the period when arrangements normally start (that would have been the September 2025 meeting in this case) until the elections are concluded.
