Unable to find answer in online docs.
I stated this as a clue that the docs are likely missing this information. Checking the Navigator, I can’t find any way to raise/lower charts. The only thing that appears possibly related is:
Navigator>OLE Objects>{Object 2, Object 1} but they cannot be re-arranged. Double-clicking selects the respective chart; nothing else. Right-clicking them brings up some options; but again, nothing to do with raise/lower. If raising/lowering charts is possible, that should be documented; if not:
should I file an enhancement request to add ability to raise/lower charts?
“can be done easily”: how? If it’s already documented, where?
24.2 Calc Guide - Chapter 3 Creating Charts and Graphs makes no mention of raising/lowering charts.
Ah… definitely NOT easy to find. Raising/lowering is not necessary; but accessing the desired chart for editing is not intuitive and is a different paradigm from raise/lower (I’d call it focus targeting):
Navigator>OLE objects + DOUBLE-click on desired chart (Object N) which selects the chart as witnessed by 9 green dots.
Even though the selected chart may be the bottom and likely smaller chart, right-clicking over the now selected chart area will allow Edit on the desired chart (clicks are passed through to the selected chart). Without this Navigator option, it is not possible to select the bottom chart with no way to select “next chart”.
Hope this helps document how to directly edit overlaid charts without having to move them around…
