From the machine room of TDF: Bank and payment provider verifications

find below a copy of an e-mail I sent to the board today, which provides some further insights on work required “in the machine room” of our foundation.

as a reminder, by July 26, Stripe needs personal data from all BoD members, otherwise our payouts will be paused. Please see my initial e-mail from May 28 on the topic.

It seems this is due to new regulations, as also other providers and banks have asked us a similar thing, so you might receive more e-mails to that effect from me.

Each of you has received an e-mail from Stripe with a direct link to fill in your data. Please do so within the deadline, the earlier the better, or send me the data (PGP encrypted is fine) so I can provide it to them.

This is done as well, and similar to the verification for international employment, we had to provide personal data (including birth date and address of residence) of all directors.

Also here, none of this is related to TDF, or to German law, or to a Stiftung - but it’s the requirements payroll providers and banks are putting into place these days.
