Errors in Math Guide 25.8 and too bad format of guide

The workflow with the guides must be with chapters. Not with complete guides:

  • To update a guide, take the chapters of the previous version from the published folder in Nexcloud, copy them to the WIP folder of the new guide and download those chapters to work on them.
  • The chapters of old versions we have saved on our computer must NOT be used. This ensures that fixed misstakes do not have to be fixed again.

The Math 25.8 guide is not divided into chapters as it should be.

  • This makes it impossible to publish it decently in web format.
  • Many of the SanityCheck macros will not work

I have found quite a few errors and mistakes when translating (updating) it into Spanish

  • Apart from the errors and mistakes , the format of the guide is not standardized:
  • The objects images, tables, frames… do not have the appropriate name.
  • Images and frames do not have alternative text

I created a new folder for guide 26.2 on NextCloud and copied Math Guide 25.8 (odt) with my comments to the mistakes and errors found in the WIP folder.

https://nextcloud.documentfoundation.org/apps/files/files/1738392?dir=/LibreOffice%20Documentation/English/Math%20Guide/26.2/WIP

**I have not divided the guide into chapters, (which is how it should be).

  • ** I think whoever put the chapters together should separate them.**

Sorry my bad English

Attached to the same folder as the Math 26.2 guide on NextCloud
an appendix B in German Guide v5 and its translation into Spanish.

The chapter deals with technical data and the use of macro with formulas.
Due to your interest, it can be integrated into the current guide.

The Spanish version has a clean format, updated links and eliminated old styles.
you only need a 2-page English translation.

Hello Antonio

You are the first person to make any comments about the Math Guide since I have been updating the Math user guide.

The reason for a single user guide and no chapters is simple. The Math user guide is short, especially when you see that on chapter has only one page. I did not know that chapters are required to maintain a web format. I have used user guides downloaded from the web when looking for information on how to operate equipment I have purchased, which just as long as the Impress and Draw guides. These downloaded user guides were complete and not in separate chapters.

So why is there a requirement of creating separate chapters because of web page format problems???

I will create chapters for the Math user guide 25.8 and publish them in NextCloud, which should be by tomorrow. The Math guide 26.2 will have separate chapters when I have finished updating the Math user guide. Also I will be going through the comments aas I update the user guides.

Regards
PeeWee

Hello Peter.

  • Guides in separate chapters are located on NextCloud.
  • Guide chapters are assembled to create a complete guide which is then exported to PDF
  • The chapters of the guides are exported separately to HTML to have an html guide with index and a visualization of the separate chapters

Before,
The guides were not exported to html (there was no bookshelf) and the Math guide was complete.
In version 25.2 that is on NextCloud, the chapters were separated so that it followed the LibreOffice Bookshelf standard
https://books.libreoffice.org/en/MG252/MG252.html

I don’t know which version was used to update the guide to version 25.8
