Dear Community,
It is a privilege to close another year alongside such a dedicated community and team. Looking back and aware of the complex challenges we face, the predominant feeling I choose to share with you is one of deep gratitude.
The Document Foundation is a large and vibrant structure, and its strength lies precisely in the diversity of talents that sustain it. It is essential to recognize that each contribution is a vital pillar of our digital sovereignty:
- My thanks to our developers and quality assurance testers, who ensure the robustness of our code;
- To the translators and documentation writers, who make our software accessible in hundreds of languages and contexts;
- To the designers and user experience experts, who give shape and ease to our work;
- To the advocates, speakers, and event organizers, who take our mission beyond the screens;
- To the members of the Board of Directors and the Membership Committee, for their dedicated service to our governance and community;
- To the members of the Advisory Board, for their strategic support and trust;
- To the donors and partners, who ensure the sustainability of our project;
- And, with special thanks, to our team, who behind the scenes provide the infrastructure, administration, and support necessary to make it all work.
At this moment, more than ever, we must remember that despite our differences and intense discussions, we are all guardians of the same ideal. LibreOffice is not just software; it is proof that diverse people can build something extraordinary together.
May 2026 renew our ability to listen, our patience, and our mutual respect. May the new year bring health, serenity, and the unity necessary to continue innovating.
A happy and prosperous New Year to all of you!
All the best,
Eliane Domingos
